Some moulded parts are useless on their own. A gearbox only works when two gears are meshed in a housing with the right backlash; a damper only works when the impeller turns in a chamber filled with the right viscosity of grease. We supply these as sub-assemblies: moulded, assembled, lubricated and function tested, so the buyer receives a module that drops into the final product.
What we build
- Spur and worm gearboxes with metal shafts and sintered bearings
- One-way dampers with a controlled opening and closing torque
- Spring-loaded latch and slider modules with moulded plungers
- Cam and linkage modules for appliances and automotive interiors
- Snap-fit modules with living hinges, cycle tested to the customer's count
Why we supply the grease, not just the parts
Backlash and lubricant are one system. The same gear pair runs quiet with one grease and noisy with another, and the noise appears after weeks of use, not on the test bench. We specify lubricant by type and viscosity, apply it by weight rather than by feel, and record the lot on the assembly record so a noise complaint can be traced back to a specific lubricant batch.
Specification
| Materials | POM, PA66, PBT, ABS, PC, PPS on request |
|---|---|
| Hardware | Steel shafts, bronze or sintered bearings, music wire springs |
| Backlash control | 0.05 to 0.15 mm, verified on a gauge per lot |
| Torque range | 2 to 400 Nmm depending on module |
| Cycle life | 50k to 500k cycles, tested to the customer's profile |
| Packing | Tray packed, one module per cell, no loose contact |
Test data travels with the module
Every lot ships with the function test result, and we keep the raw data for traceability. If a customer reports a failure in the field, we can pull the assembly record, the lubricant lot and the test curve for the specific units in that shipment. This matters more on sub-assemblies than on loose parts, because the failure mode is almost always a system interaction rather than a single dimension.
Working from a concept
Most sub-assembly projects start with a function and an envelope, not a drawing. We can propose a mechanism, model it, and mould a prototype in soft tooling within three weeks. The design review is where the money is saved: moving a bearing wall by half a millimetre changes the cycle life more than any material upgrade.
