Product photography on a B2B catalogue is not decoration; it is the first specification a buyer reads. A single front-on photograph of a moulded part tells the buyer the silhouette and nothing else, and the questions that follow, what the surface finish looks like, where the parting line sits, how the inserts are arranged, cost a round of emails before the first sample is even quoted. We have now rolled out multi-angle image sets across the listings published in the category expansion programme.
What the new sets contain
Each listing in the expansion round carries a main image plus detail shots, generated in the Destoon three-piece image structure the platform expects: a full-size view at 800 by 800 pixels for the detail page, a 400 by 300 middle image for the list page, and a 160-pixel thumbnail for the grids. The set is planned per product family rather than per part: exploded and parts-laid-out views for multi-component assemblies, surface-finish comparisons where the finish is a specification, and feature close-ups where a feature, a thread, an insert, a seal geometry, is what the buyer needs to see before sampling.
Why it changes the enquiry
The buyer-side effect is that the first message arrives better specified. A buyer who has seen the parting line, the gate area and the insert layout in the gallery asks about the specification rather than asking whether the part is what they think it is. For programmes that compare two suppliers, the gallery is the cheapest qualification step available, and it is the reason the sets were prioritised over additional copy on the newer listings.
Coverage and what comes next
The expansion categories, the consumer, adult wellness and semi-finished boards alongside the toy range, now publish with full sets, and the raw-material programme listings are being re-shot to the same standard. The next phase extends the sets to the remaining older listings and adds cross-referenced galleries so a buyer moving from a category page to a leaf page sees a consistent visual standard throughout.
