Body-contact silicone parts are specified by their material, not by their shape, and the material is decided by the cure system. Platinum-cured liquid silicone rubber gives a low-volatile product with predictable compression set, which is why it is the default for any part intended for prolonged skin contact.
We mould LSR components in Guangzhou for wellness device brands and private-label programmes, with assembly carried out in a controlled area separate from the moulding floor.
Why platinum cure
Peroxide-cured silicone is cheaper but leaves peroxide by-products in the part, and those by-products are what shows up as an odour in a sealed retail pack. Platinum cure avoids that, holds compression set better across a temperature range, and can be pigment-matched with a tighter tolerance because the catalyst is not consumed by the pigment carrier. For body-contact parts the difference is visible in the odour test and in the aging behaviour.

Tooling for LSR
LSR runs at a low viscosity and a high temperature on a cold runner system, and it flashes easily, so parting lines have to be designed rather than accepted. Cold deck runners add tooling cost but cut scrap to near zero on parts with a visible parting line. Where a part has an undercut, we prefer a sliding insert over a collapsible core, because LSR will tear before it collapses.
Surface finish
A high gloss finish is achievable but is rarely the right choice for a body-contact part: it retains fingerprints and shows every blemish on a moulded surface. Matte finishes, applied by blasting the tool cavity, hide minor imperfections and reduce surface friction, which matters on a part that is handled repeatedly.
Testing and documentation
Compression set is measured at 22 hours and at 70 C. Tear strength is checked on the same lot as production. Material declarations cover BPA, phthalates, heavy metals and latex, and any product-level testing is carried out by a laboratory appointed by the buyer. We supply declarations for our material; we do not issue certificates in another company's brand name.
Commercial notes
Copy, photography and packaging for this category are kept to a discreet, non-explicit standard that suits mainstream marketplaces and general retail. We will not produce mouldings from artwork or drawings that reference a protected design without the buyer holding the rights.
