A handheld massager is judged on three things a user notices immediately: how it feels in the hand, how loud it is, and whether it survives being washed. All three are set by the housing, the motor mount and the seal, and none of them can be fixed in assembly after the tool is cut.
We mould and assemble handheld personal massager housings in Guangzhou, from the tooling through to the charging module and final inspection.
What the housing has to do
- Hold a motor mount that keeps the vibration aligned under load
- Seal to IPX7 at the joint line and at the charging port
- Survive a 1 m drop onto a hard floor without cracking
- Stay quiet, which means the motor cannot rattle against a hard cavity
Sealing strategy
A single silicone gasket at the parting line does most of the work, but it only works if the parting line is designed for it: a step or a tongue-and-groove rather than a flat face, so the gasket is captured rather than squeezed sideways. The charging port is a separate problem, because a USB-C opening is a direct path into the cavity. We use a sealed port cap and a potted connector, and we recommend buyers treat the charging port as the failure point when planning the warranty policy.

Noise and motor mounting
The motor is mounted on silicone pads rather than hard plastic, and the pads are specified by hardness as well as by thickness. A hard mount transmits vibration into the shell and reads as a harsh buzz; a too-soft pad lets the motor walk on its own cable. The tuning is done on the first article, and the pad hardness is then frozen for the production tool.
Electronics and assembly
Charging module, motor and switch are assembled in-house, with the housing sealed in a press rather than by hand. Electrical safety is built to the certification the buyer arranges for the destination market, and the buyer's laboratory issues the report. Battery packs ship under the applicable transport rules and are quoted as a separate line.
Product positioning
This is a personal massager, not a medical device, and the copy and packaging are kept to that boundary: no therapeutic or treatment claims, no clinical language, and no product imagery that would be unsuitable for mainstream retail channels.
